[NOV.
10, 2005] Student council members at Carroll Catholic
School in Lincoln celebrated a "Respect for Life" Mass during the
month of October. Their focus was on the elderly, so they dedicated
a collection from the Mass to the senior programs at the Central
Illinois Executive Development Corp.

the donation from members of the student council.
Over $110 was raised for the CIEDC senior programs. The
agency provides senior transportation services to anyone 60 years or
older. Senior transportation is a vital service that transports the
elderly to doctor appointments and other necessary trips. The senior
nutrition program provides meals to the elderly and disabled for a
minimal cost. The agency also has a homemaking program that provides
individual care for seniors, including meal preparation and
housecleaning.
"Fundraising is very important to CIEDC senior programs," said
Angie Jenkins, director of the programs. "Although we do receive
federal and state funding, CIEDC must raise approximately $30,000
each year to maintain our current level of services."
