State fair manager asks for input for 2006 Illinois State Fair       Send a link to a friend

[NOV. 12, 2005]  SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick announced Wednesday that plans are already being outlined for the 2006 Illinois State Fair, nine months before the event kicks off, and people across the state are encouraged to submit their suggestions for what they'd like to see at the fair.

"During the planning stages for the 2005 state fair, we reached out to the community and asked what the people wanted to see at the fair," Bliefnick said. "We received hundreds of e-mails last year with great ideas, and as a result we had one of the most successful grandstand lineups in fair history and a fantastic event. We want to encourage people to let us know once again what they want to see at their state fair."

Suggestions for the fair as well as general inquiries or input can be sent to statefair@agr.state.il.us. The 2006 Illinois State Fair runs Aug. 11-20.
