Angels drop home opener          Send a link to a friend

[NOV. 23, 2005]  Lincoln Christian's Angels dropped their home opener at Laughlin Center by the score of 71-62 to the Red Devils of Eureka College on Tuesday evening. After trailing 42-37 at the half, LCC was outscored in the second half 25-29. Trailing at one point by 16, the Angels rallied to within six points but were unable to get any closer.

LCC was led in scoring by Emma Hanford with 19 and Jessica Fender with 14. Fender led the team in rebounds with 12.

Eureka was led in scoring and rebounding by Nicole Fisher, who had 20 points and 11 boards.

LCC coach Amanda Bowman said, "The Angels must show more intensity during the entire game and need to improve their post play to be able to compete with teams of the caliber of Eureka."

LCC is now 1-2, while Eureka moved to 2-1.
