|
Discover the best of the rural Midwest. Escape to the Midwest's serene
countryside with this guide to 45 tours in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa,
Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. Visit farms that bring you back to the
region's simpler times. Sample home-cooked foods made from locally grown
products. Tour museums and mansions that reveal how people lived and worked
more than a hundred years ago. Author Nina Gadomski invites you to discover
the beauty of the Dairy State, explore the roots of Minnesota's famous
Scandinavian heritage, savor fantastic flavors of the Hawkeye State's
specialty markets, visit a bison or llama ranch in the Prairie State,
experience Hoosier small-town hospitality, or satisfy your sweet tooth at
Michigan's cherry orchards and sugar farms.
"From the sugarbush to the berry patch, this is a great guide for those
who hunger -- literally -- to travel," wrote Dennis McCann, Milwaukee
Journal Sentinel columnist.
