Oct. 23 is Red Ribbon Week Prayer Day. All churches in the
communities of Armington, Hopedale and Minier are encouraged to
recognize the week and ask for support of youth and their
families to make right choices in not using drugs and alcohol.
Oct. 24 will be School Spirit Day at Olympia West, and
children will wear clothing promoting the Olympia school
district. There will be a kick-off assembly at 8:30, when some
superheroes will visit the students and staff.
Students and staff are encourage to wear "hat and shades" for
Oct. 25. Prizes will also be given during lunch.
Oct. 27 is Give the Boot to Drugs Day, as students are
encouraged to wear their favorite boots to school.
Friday is Super Hero T-Shirt Day at Olympia West. Students
and staff may wear shirts showing their favorite superhero,
athlete or professional. There will be a police canine
demonstration, open to the public, at the school park in Minier
at 1:15 p.m.
