Lincoln College trick-or-canning helps hurricane victims       Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 28, 2005]  Lincoln College's Union of Student Activists plans to help the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita with a food drive during the annual Lincoln College trick-or-canning event.

Lincoln College students will be trick-or-canning on Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Mayfair and Starkey Acres subdivisions in Lincoln. The students are not in search of candy but of canned goods and nonperishable items that will be donated to a food bank in southern Mississippi.

Ron Keller, faculty adviser for the Union of Student Activists, is helping organize the event and says he expects to collect over 100 pounds of food. "In the past we canvassed the area around campus and collected about 50 pounds of food. This year we've set our goal at five boxes, and hopefully, with the help of the people of Lincoln, we can meet that goal."

Please contact Ron Keller at (217) 732-3155, ext. 295, for more information on the event or if you would like to donate.
