[APRIL 4, 2006]  The Mount Pulaski School District board decided at last month's meeting to move the Elkhart sixth, seventh and eighth grades to Mount Pulaski beginning in the 2007-2008 school year.

Concerned residents of Elkhart met Monday evening in the Village Hall to discuss concerns they have for the decisions recently made by the school board and the impact those decisions have on the children of the district. Several area residents were in attendance, sharing a multitude of questions and observations. They chose to be identified by the name "Citizens For Education" with the purpose of researching the issues discussed and addressing legal options available to the citizens of the school district.

The group is still forming and needs concerned citizens to attend the next meeting of Citizens For Education on April 17 at 7 p.m. in the Elkhart Village Hall. The core concerns of the group are districtwide. Residents of the Mount Pulaski School District are also encouraged to attend the next meeting of the school board on April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Mount Pulaski Grade School.
