Geographic information system parcel mapping presentation set          Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 6, 2006]  Logan County's geographic information systems committee will attend the meeting of the county's executive and economic development committee on Monday at 7 p.m. in the first-floor courtroom at the courthouse. The GIS committee will present a parcel mapping company, Bruce Harris & Associates of Batavia, which will be recommended to the board. The county board will discuss the recommendation at the April 13 meeting.

The county GIS committee has been meeting for months, preparing and narrowing down companies that have submitted proposals to the county. Parcel mapping, a component of GIS, has been mandated by Bulletin 810 from the state of Illinois and has an intricate role in the mapping process.

The informational meeting is open to the public to view the system that may be implemented. Bruce Harris & Associates will show a pilot demonstration the company has prepared depicting the west side of Lincoln. The committee will be present to answer questions.
