[APRIL 25, 2006]  Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln is hosting a community blood drive on May 1. Staff from the Central Illinois Community Blood Center will draw blood between noon and 6 p.m. at the Lincoln Paramedic Association center on Postville Drive, just off Lincoln Parkway.

If you are 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in general good health, you should be eligible to donate blood.

Central Illinois Community Blood Center is a nonprofit organization and is the sole supplier of blood for Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, both Springfield hospitals and several other hospitals in central and southern Illinois.

Your continued help is requested and appreciated. One donation can save three lives.

Appointments can be made by calling a toll-free number, 1 (866) 448-3253, ext. 56; ask for Tara Tyler. Walk-ins are welcome.

Let's help our community supply blood for those in need.

Organizations are needed to sponsor blood drives in your community. If you would like to sponsor a blood drive, please call Tara Tyler at the above number.
