Illinois Symphony to present 'Orchestra Spectacular!'

[APRIL 28, 2006]  SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois Symphony Orchestra will present Masterworks 5, "Orchestra Spectacular," today (Friday) in Bloomington-Normal, at Braden Auditorium on the campus of Illinois State University, and on Saturday in Springfield, at Sangamon Auditorium on the campus of University of Illinois at Springfield. Musical performances begin at 8 p.m. and are preceded by maestra Karen Lynne Deal's concert comments at 7:15 p.m.

The Illinois Symphony Orchestra's final concert of the season will feature Richard Strauss' "Don Juan," Beethoven's Symphony No. 2, Ravel's "Daphnis and Chloe" Suite No. 2 and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Capriccio Espagnole."

Single tickets in Bloomington are $35 and $30 and can be reserved by calling Braden Auditorium at (309) 438-5444. Single tickets in Springfield are $35, $30 and $25 and can be purchased by calling Sangamon Auditorium at (217) 206-6160. Student tickets are $10 in both cities.
