Atlanta teen dies in crash          Send a link to a friend

[AUG. 7, 2006]  A single-vehicle accident northeast of Lincoln ended the life of Mark A. Potter, 19, of Atlanta at 10:38 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Potter was southbound on Old Route 66, driving a blue 1994 Pontiac Trans Am. Approaching Interstate 55 he drove into the center grass median and struck the concrete bridge support for the interstate overpass at Milepost 133.

Potter had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The scene was attended by Logan County Sheriff's Department, Lincoln Rural Fire Department, Lincoln-Logan Rural Paramedics, Logan County Paramedic Association and the Logan County coroner's office.

Circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
