SPRINGFIELD -- State Rep. Bill Mitchell,
R-Forsyth, recently met the new director of the
Illinois Department of
Veterans' Affairs, Tammy Duckworth, at the Old State Capitol. Ms.
Duckworth is a double amputee who was injured while serving in the
Iraq war.
Mitchell would like to convert the former Lincoln
Developmental Center into a facility to care for veterans with
Alzheimer's disease. Duckworth has agreed to tour the Lincoln
facility.
