[DEC. 11, 2006]  NAPERVILLE -- After three weeks off, the Lincoln Community High School speech team traveled to the Naperville Tournament of Roses to compete against some of the toughest competition in the state. The LCHS team finished 10th of 35 teams and placed five individuals into the final rounds.

Lincoln Moore and Tony Curcuru were tournament runners-up in humorous duet acting, and Curcuru teaming with Kaylyn Engelhardt in dramatic duet acting finished third. Also placing third was Hannah Snyder in impromptu speaking. Lincoln Moore finished sixth in original comedy, while Annie Sheley was a finalist in oratorical declamation.

The team travels to the Olympia Christmas Classic next weekend.
