Lincoln gets a little Penach     Send a link to a friend

[DEC. 16, 2006]  LINCOLN -- A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Lincoln business, Penache, was held at 1006 Woodlawn Road, Lincoln on Friday, December 15.

Penache is a unique boutique located within J&S Auto Centre. It features unique, not-to-be-found everywhere items. The shop is a showcase for local artists' creations including metalwork, jewelry, stained glass, photography, ceramics and paintings. Wearable art made by the Maasai women of Kenya takes the form of colorful, beaded necklaces and bracelets and stamped sterling silver jewelry is crafted by native Americans. The new boutique also features glam jewelry, heavenly candles, gourmet food, holiday lights and ornaments, candy, and antiques.

Owner Shelley Horn is excited to be bringing these unique treasures to perk up lives. She said the inspiration came because, “As we age, life gets serious. This is about fun.”

The items are not in the norm, something different that you don’t see around here. Some are made with materials that are uncommon, and that makes them special. The Maasai jewelry uses Zulu wood and small vibrant, world-famous Czechoslovakian glass/crystal beads that have a brilliance that just pops, she said.
