Jefferson Davis ‘J.D.’ Singleton

[DEC. 27, 2006]  Jefferson Davis ‘J.D.’ Singleton, 85, of Lincoln passed away at 9:32 a.m. at St. Clara’s Manor on Monday, Dec. 26, 2006.

Mr. Singleton was cremated. A celebration of his life will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements will be made by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

He was born to Ivan Hugh and Mae Jonas Singleton on Aug. 2, 1921 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He married Hermine Armstrong in Chestnut on April 12, 1946.

Mr. Singleton was a retired contractor and owner of Postville Mobile Home Park in Lincoln. He was a WWII veteran. He belonged to the American Legion Post #263, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lincoln Amvets and the Elk’s Lodge #914.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Jeffrey (Christie) Singleton, Patrick (Debbie) Singleton; one sister, Lenora Leith, four grandchildren and one step grandchild, four great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren, all of Lincoln.

The family requests no food of flowers but suggest memorials given to the City of Lincoln Fire Department.
