Lincoln Burger King makes an impression       Send a link to a friend

[FEB. 24, 2006]  The Heartland Food Corporation has joined the Muscular Dystrophy Association and their fight against neuromuscular disease. By participating in the Shamrocks Against Dystrophy program, they are raising much-needed funds for local families. Lincoln's Burger King, located off Woodlawn Road, is at the top of the list.

With only one week into the program, Lincoln is the "top four store," according to Cynthia McGill, MDA district director. The restaurant has sold enough shamrocks to send one local child to summer camp.

"When we received the call that they needed more shamrocks so quickly, I thought there was a mistake," McGill said. "When I walked in and saw their walls covered in green shamrocks, I wanted to thank everyone that sold or bought a shamrock for making a difference in the lives of local families."

Heartland Food Corporation, one of the world's largest franchisers, currently oversees 249 Burger King restaurants in five states.

Across the country, Shamrocks Against Dystrophy raises millions of dollars each year to help support the MDA's programs of services and research for children and adults with neuromuscular diseases.
