[FEB. 25, 2006]  Amanda Perry of Lincoln has been cast in the role of Nora Morton for the upcoming Lincoln College presentation of Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs." The drama is the third performance of the season and starts March 2 at the Johnston Center for Performing Arts.

Perry, a sophomore, is a 2004 graduate of Lincoln Community High School. She is active with the Lincoln College show choir, The Express. She has achieved academic honors while at LC and was named to the fall 2004 special honors list, the spring 2005 president's list and the fall 2005 special honors list. She is the recipient of the Row Motors Scholarship and the State Bank of Lincoln Scholarship offered at Lincoln College. Tom and Marlene Perry of Lincoln are her parents.

"Brighton Beach Memoirs," based loosely on Neil Simon's own life, is a heartwarming, coming-of-age story that focuses on 15-year-old Eugene and his large, cantankerous family in their overcrowded Brooklyn home. Demonstrating the strength of family in the face of adversity, this hilarious theatrical treasure fills audiences with laughter.
