[JULY 01, 2006]  The fireworks came early as Leake Antennae faced off with Steak ‘n Shake on the Pony field Friday night to complete a game that was postponed by rain on Monday. Each team had 14 hits, as Steak ‘n Shake prevailed on the scoreboard, 18-12. For Steak ‘n Shake, Conner McQuellon was the winning pitcher, while Brandon Chrisman got the save. Leading the hit parade, Chrisman had two hits and 3 RBIs. McQuellon had a hit and scored 4 runs. Zach Toft had 3 hits, scored 4 runs and had 3 RBIs. Tanner Smith and Derrick Grieser had two hits a piece, Grieser knocking in 4 runs. Kenton McIntosh, Alex Schonauer and Justin Jenkins also had hits and runs scored in the game. In a losing cause for Leake, Mason Musick, Tyler Hundt, and Chad Moore each had two hits.

Pony League 13-14 year old tournament action begins on Monday night, July 3rd. Steak ‘n Shake will play at 5:30 p.m. and Leake Antennae will play at 8:00 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The third Lincoln team, Klemm Tax Service, will begin play in Mt. Pulaski at 6:00 p.m. Winners will advance to the semi-finals which will be played on Wednesday, July 5th. Locations for semi-final games will be determined after Monday’s opening round. The 3rd-4th place game will be played on the Lincoln field at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 6th, with the championship game to follow at 8:00 p.m.
