[JULY 3, 2006]  WAYNESVILLE -- Ethel Ferne Williams, 82, formerly of Waynesville, died Friday, June 30, 2006, at 4:17 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday at the Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, with Mr. Maurice Stribling officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville.

Ethel was born on Jan. 23, 1924, at Waynesville, the daughter of William and Grayce Hayn Williams.

Surviving are two sisters, Bernadine Robison and Sarah Nichols, both of Hopedale; seven nieces; five nephews; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, great-great-great nieces and great-great-great-nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

She also leaves behind a wonderful nursing staff and friends at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln, where she lived the past 33 years.
