Second- and third-place winners in the Arbor Day poster contest were awarded in front of the Lincoln City Council recently. First place went to Abigail Everson from Washington-Monroe School. Pictured are Regan Dahm from Adams School, who took second place, and Ryan Crawley from Washington-Monroe, third place. Over 100 posters were submitted from District 27 second-graders this year. Lincoln Street Department Superintendent Tracy Jackson said it was tough choosing the winners with so many great entries. It took the whole department to decide, he said.       [picture by Jan Youngquist] click on picture for larger image
