[JULY 17, 2006]  One hundred seventeen additional personalized bricks have been laid in the Veterans Honor Roll at All Veterans Park in Lincoln. This brings the total of bricks laid to 2,018.

Orders are still being taken for bricks, as there is a small amount of space open yet. If you want to have bricks laid, send in your orders immediately. The next laying date is not certain, but get your bricks included whenever it is.

Remember, you must have a completed form and check sent to the address on the form. Pick up a form from the container in All Veterans Park, or call 732-8829 and a form will be mailed to you. If you call and get the answering machine, please leave your name, complete addresses and how many forms you need. They will be mailed immediately.

All AMVETS and AMVETS Auxiliary members are reminded of the July 17 meeting at 4 p.m. at 1417 N. Logan St.

All AMVETS are urged to attend the Aug. 1 opening of the Logan County Fair by being present for the picture to be taken of all veterans just before the opening ceremonies. And, of course, the Interveterans Council will open the fair with the presentation of colors, and all who can participate are asked to do so. The uniform will be a white short-sleeved shirt with black tie and trousers, along with your organizational hat. Participants are to enter the fairgrounds by the east gate.
