[JULY 28, 2006]  EMDEN -- Area churches of Hartsburg and Emden are presenting "Summer Celebration" on Saturday. Sponsors are Emden Christian Church, Prairieland Christian Church, St. John's Lutheran Church and St. Peter Lutheran Church.

JAARS Inc., an organization that provides aviation and technology services for Wycliffe Bible Translators in many remote areas around the world, will have a helicopter by Luther Field in Emden. Passenger rides will be available from noon to 6 p.m. A fee of $18 per person covers fuel and insurance costs.

Along with the helicopter rides, the area churches are helping to provide other fun activities for the entire family, including games, face painting and a family decathlon.

Pork chop sandwiches, hot dogs, desserts and drinks will be provided by Emden Christian Church and Prairieland Christian Church. Money raised will go toward church mission trips.
