[JUNE
1, 2006] "Antique Appraisals:
Valuable or 'Priceless'" is being hosted by the Logan County
Genealogical and Historical Society at 114 N. Chicago St. in Lincoln
on June 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is an opportunity to clean
out those closets, jewelry boxes and cupboards of old, handed-down
items and see if they really do have any value or are just a nice,
sentimental keepsake.
Nancy and John Glick along with Kay and Graham Curtis, appraisers
from the Havana area, will be on hand to do the appraisals.
The
society is asking for a $3 donation per item to be appraised, with a
maximum of five items per participant. Please do not bring large or
heavy items or furniture.
Preregistration is not required, although preregistration forms
may be obtained from the Logan County Genealogical and Historical
Society upon request. Call (217) 732-3200, mail your request to the
center at 114 N. Chicago St., or stop by between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Tuesday-Friday or on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
A brief, detailed description of the items to be appraised may be
listed on the registration forms. If pictures of the items are
available, please send them along with the registration form to the
Logan County Genealogical and Historical Society by June 2. The
forms and pictures will be passed on to the appraisers for
preliminary research.
Walk-ins on June 10 are welcome and encouraged. Pass the word and
bring a friend or two along with you.
