[JUNE 1, 2006]  On Saturday, Main Street Lincoln will host the fifth annual dog event, entitled "Puttin' on the Dog." This event will please any canine lover! Bring your dogs to the Blue Dog Inn and register to participate in all of the morning festivities.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with special attractions leading the pet parade to the courthouse at 9:30. The cost is just $5 per dog and includes a goody bag.

Dogs may also enter the pageant, with prizes to be awarded for the smallest, biggest, most unique name, pet-owner look-alike and the best talent. An Abe's Choice award will be presented. A photo op on the courthouse lawn will give pet owners a chance to have their dog's picture taken with Abraham Lincoln or Miss Central Illinois.

Pools with water will be provided on the courthouse lawn for all of the Fidos to enjoy.
