[JUNE 3, 2006]  Lincoln AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary to Post 71 met recently. Officers were elected and chairmen appointed.

  • President: Cynthia Dennis

  • First vice president, membership chairman, secretary-treasurer, public relations officer, parliamentarian, liaison officer and scholarship chairman: Ruth Haak

  • Second vice president, child welfare chairman and chaplain: Louise Cobb

  • Third vice president and community service chairman: Doris Langenbahn

  • Sergeant at arms, hospital chairman and Americanism chairman: Dorothy Sanders

These officers and chairmen were installed by Division 3 President Shirley Lebro of Moro, a guest for the evening.

In the reports, it was noted that members have continued to assist with the Veterans Honor Roll. It was emphasized that bricks are still being sold for $35 and will be offered until the space is filled. To date, 1,988 have been sold. The next laying of the bricks was announced for the first part of June, so it is important to get those orders in so the bricks included.

In project reports, the group heard the evaluations for volunteering at the local food pantries; hospital; cards sent to the ill, hospitalized, or bereaved; and plastic containers donated to a campground kitchen for carryouts.
