Gov. Blagojevich to discuss homeland security in Illinois after the arrest of seven terrorism suspects

[JUNE 23, 2006]  CHICAGO -- State and FBI officials met in the wake of a terrorist plot discovered by federal authorities. The plot allegedly included attacks against Chicago's Sears Tower. Seven individuals were arrested in Miami and Atlanta.

Meeting with the FBI on Friday were Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich; Jill Morgenthaler, the governor's deputy chief of staff for public safety; and Mike Chamness, chair of the Illinois Terrorism Task Force.

The governor will address homeland security in Illinois following the meeting.
