[JUNE 27, 2006]  The Lincoln Heat Bronco team went undefeated in the Heat Days Tournament.

The Heat won their first game 15-0 in three innings versus Warrensburg. Tate Gordon started on the mound and was later relieved by Brent Hunsley. Ryan Montcalm had two hits in the game, and Will Podbelsek had a triple.

The Heat next faced Athens. Hunsley started for the Heat and was relieved by Colby Leith. Podbelsek, Montcalm, Gordon, Leith and Mason Madigan each had a couple of hits in the game. Halen Sampson had a triple, as the Heat went on to win 13-1.

The Heat then faced the Springfield Shockers. Once again, Hunsley started the game for the Heat. Podbelsek, Leith and Cody Heidbreder each had a couple of hits in the game, including a triple by Heidbreder. The Heat won the game 14-2.

The Heat played well and went undefeated in pool play. Unfortunately the championship game versus Olympia was rained out Sunday and Monday, so Olympia and the Heat shared the championship since both teams went undefeated in pool play.

The Heat's next game is at home Wednesday versus the McLean County Mavericks.
