[JUNE 28, 2006]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, at 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Breakfast bingo

Come join the fun Thursday for breakfast bingo, sponsored by The Oasis and Christian Village. Breakfast will feature french toast, sausage links and fresh fruit. Tickets are available for $3.50 at The Oasis.

Oasis closed for Independence Day

The Oasis will be closed July 3 and 4 to observe Independence Day. Have a happy holiday!

Summer card party

Join us for the summer card party at The Oasis on July 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. It will be an afternoon of cards -- pinochle, bridge, rummy -- and wonderful dessert. Tickets are available at the senior center for $5. July 5 is the deadline.

Tuesday lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for July 11 will feature sloppy joes, salad, fries, dessert and a drink for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Make reservations by July 10 at 4 p.m.

Winners for the week announced

Mable Hoagland was the weekday pinochle winner for Tuesday and Friday. The weekend pinochle winners were Charlotte Scott and Wilbur Wilmert. The winner at five-in-one was Betty Burger. Congratulations.
