Heat win doubleheader vs. McLean County Mavericks

[JUNE 29, 2006]  The Lincoln Heat won both games of their Bronco doubleheader with the McLean County Mavericks on Wednesday.

Tate Gordon started the first game for the Heat. He went 4 2/3 innings, striking out five and walking two. Ryan Montcalm came in for the save as the Heat won the first game 7-3.

Ryan Montcalm had a double and an RBI in the game. Halen Sampson had a single and two RBIs.

The Heat started the second game a little slow, giving up four runs in the top of the first. Halen Sampson started on the mound for the Heat. He lasted 2/3 of an inning before being relieved by Will Podbelsek. Ryan Montcalm came in to close out the second game as the Heat went on to win 8-5.

Ryan Montcalm was 2-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Andy Krusz went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

The Heat's next game will be at the 4th of July tournament in Riverton.
