'Mozart in Mexico'          Send a link to a friend

[MARCH 1, 2006]  SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois Chamber Orchestra and Landmark Automotive will present "Mozart in Mexico" on March 10 at First Christian Church in Springfield and on March 11 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomington. All Illinois Chamber Orchestra concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

Illinois Chamber Orchestra: "Mozart in Mexico!"

  • Friday, March 10 -- First Christian Church, Springfield

  • Saturday, March 11 -- St. John's Lutheran Church, Bloomington-Normal

The Illinois Chamber Orchestra program "Mozart in Mexico" will feature two special guests from Mexico City: Lucia Salas, soprano, and her husband, Johannes Bruno Ullrich, conductor. Both will join the Illinois Chamber Orchestra in celebrating Mozart's 250th birthday with some of Mozart's most memorable works, including Symphony No. 40, "Alleluia" (from "Exulte, Jubilate") and Overture to "Don Giovanni."

General admission for chamber concerts is $20, and tickets can be reserved by calling (217) 522-2838 in Springfield and (309) 438-5444 in Bloomington-Normal.
