[MARCH 1, 2006]  PORTLAND, Ind. -- Glynn Barber, founder of the XPlex Extreme Competition Park, and his staff are excited to announce the acquisition of Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Ill. Barber and former owners Gary Baugh and Norm Horn agreed to terms recently. All parties involved are extremely excited with the upcoming 2006 season. Baugh and Horn have agreed to remain with the facility they built, to offer assistance in any way possible, to complete the smooth transition.

Contrary to recent reports, the weekly show will consist of non-wing sprints and two support divisions. Special events will be added as well. The overall schedule will be released as soon as possible. A schedule that was released prematurely at the Lincoln Speedway banquet recently will be reviewed and modified as necessary, as none of these dates were confirmed by either the former or new speedway owners. The All Star Circuit of Champions winged sprint car races at Lincoln Speedway have been dropped from the schedule, as well as their scheduled races at the XPlex park in Portland.

Fans of Lincoln Speedway can look forward to several other XPlex forms of entertainment in the coming years. These include a concert series, spearheaded by XPlex general manager Ryan McCombs, lead singer of the heavy metal band Drowning Pool; motocross; the United Rockcrawling and Off-Road Challenge series; paintball competitions; and much more.
