Values:  Born in Lincoln, Ill. Lived in Lincoln, Ill., all but two years of my life, which I lived in Washington, D.C. Graduated from Chestnut Grade School and Mount Pulaski High School. Owned and operated bakery/cake decorating business for 17 years. Mother of daughter Sabrina Persico and Steven Luster, both graduates of University of Illinois. I have one terrific grandson, Lanham, and son-in-law, Derek Persico. I am currently employed as an administrative assistant in the Payroll Department at Central Management Services in Springfield, Ill.

Leadership:  Appointed to the board in 2001 to take Beth Davis' place when she was elected mayor of Lincoln. Elected in 2002 and again in 2004. I served as chairman of insurance and legislative, health department, Central Illinois Economic Development, safety chairman and liquor chairman. I was elected by board peers to serve as vice chairman of the county board for two consecutive terms. I served on the personnel, planning and zoning, building and grounds, and animal control committees. I attended a national convention in Washington, D.C., concerning programs for senior citizens and Head Start programs.
I am currently endorsed by the Logan County Farm Bureau.

Integrity:  I currently serve as secretary for Central Illinois Economic Development executive board.
I am a member of AFSCME Local 2224.
I have nearly a decade of experience in financial management for state government.
I continue to support the adequate funding for the Logan County Health Department.
I support Logan County Regional Planning Commission's efforts to update the county's comprehensive plan, which details generalized zoning plans for specific regions throughout the county. I am extremely happy for Sysco deciding to locate here and also the ethanol plant which is to locate in Hartsburg. I continue to support 5-acre tracts. I hope to see the county and city continue to work together as a team to benefit all of Logan County. I believe that ideas can become realities. I am empathetic and willing to make tough decisions, knowing that excellence can be achieved.

I would appreciate your support on March 21, 2006, but the most important thing is to take advantage of the privilege we as Americans have to vote.
