University of Illinois Extension offers free food pantry class       Send a link to a friend

[MARCH 23, 2006]  The family nutrition program through University of Illinois Extension in Logan County is offering a free monthly class for food pantry clients. Each month a different topic will be covered. The topic for March will be the new MyPyramid -- grains. The class will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. March 30 at the First United Methodist Church, 302 Broadway.

Those attending the class will learn about using commodity foods, learn new recipes and be allowed to choose some additional food items as well as be included in a drawing for gift certificates to the New Beginnings Thrift Shop.
