Bomke speaks with 'Illinois Lawmakers' regarding education funding, capital program          Send a link to a friend

[MARCH 24, 2006]  SPRINGFIELD -- State Sen. Larry Bomke, R-Springfield, and state Rep. Art Turner, D-Chicago, spoke with Jak Tichenor, host of public television's "Illinois Lawmakers," in a broadcast on Wednesday.

The lawmakers offered their opinions on the spring 2006 session schedule, focusing primarily on the state budget, education funding and Gov. Blagojevich's proposed capital spending program. Bomke also addressed the tornado that recently hit Springfield and the surrounding area, commending both local and state officials for their tremendous response efforts.

"Illinois Lawmakers" airs on public stations across the state and acts as a forum for discussing hot-button issues in the General Assembly. The program celebrated its 20th season this year.
