Logan County Health Department will offer free women's health screenings

[MAY 8, 2006]  To celebrate Women's Health Week, Logan County Health Department is offering free women's health screenings May 15-19. The screenings will be free for the first 30 women each day. No appointments are necessary; screenings are by walk-in only at 109 Third St.

Funding has been provided by the Office on Women's Health of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Women's Health of the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The schedule for screenings is as follows:

  • May 15, 7:30-11:30 a.m. -- Blood sugar

  • May 16, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. -- Bone density

  • May 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. -- Blood pressure

  • May 18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. -- Hemoglobin

  • May 19, 9-11:30 a.m. -- Chair massages by Midwest Technical Institute
