[MAY 9, 2006]  The Lincoln Community High School Fine Arts Department will present the charming musical "Dames at Sea," a humorous tale of a producer down on his luck, looking for a comeback. The show opens in the LCHS auditorium on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., with other 7:30 performances on Friday and Saturday evening. The closing performance will be on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Lead roles include Ruth Ohmart as Mona Kent, Lindsey Boerma as Joan, Kelly Lohrenz as Ruby, Tony Curcuru as Dick, Lincoln Moore as Lucky, Todd Schumacher as Hennesey and Mikel Frost as Captain.

The production is directed by Chelsea Cheatham and Ed Jodlowski, with Kim Peterson-Quinn as music director and David Swaar directing the orchestra. Choreography was done by Cheatham, Peterson-Quinn and Brittany Dobson, who served as the primary choreographer focusing on all tap numbers.

The assistant director is Amy Schumacher and technical director is AJ Wunderlin. The set was designed by Wunderlin, Cheatham and James Cosby.

This play is a hilarious story of a unique cast who must pull Hennesey's latest musical together, despite conflicts -- including a drastic change of venue.

"'Dames at Sea' pokes fun at 1930s musicals, including '42nd Street' and 'Anything Goes,'" Jodlowski said. "It is a fun-filled dance show that every audience member will enjoy."

Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, and $4 for children.
