Support group explores divorce-related topics

'Facing My Anger'          Send a link to a friend

[MAY 10, 2006]  When it meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, the DivorceCare seminar and support group will discover healthy ways to handle anger. The weekly meetings are at Jefferson Street Christian Church, 1700 N. Jefferson St.

DivorceCare is a video seminar series featuring experts on divorce and recovery topics such as coping with depression and loneliness, financial survival, and single parenting. Each session also includes a group discussion.

In the video "Facing My Anger," psychotherapist Les Carter of the Minirth Clinic in Richardson, Texas, explores eight sources of anger and offers practical suggestions on how to deal with it. Co-author of "The Anger Workbook," Carter is known as "America's anger expert"; he conducts anger management workshops around the country.

DivorceCare will meet on Mondays until the end of July. There will be no meeting on Memorial Day, May 29. Participants may join the group at any time during the 12-week series; pre-registration is not required. Cost of the DivorceCare workbook is $12. Child care is available.
