Motorcycle accident on I-55          Send a link to a friend

[MAY 22, 2006]  An early Sunday afternoon accident on Interstate 55 slowed traffic near Lawndale. At approximately 12:25 p.m. a motorcyclist and his passenger were northbound on Interstate 55 when a tire blew out on his 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The driver, Edward Thomas, 51, of Hazel Crest and his passenger, Linda M. Fields, 45, of Chicago suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported via ambulance to BroMenn Hospital in Bloomington.

Agencies assisting at the scene were the Illinois State Police, Logan County Sheriff's Department, Atlanta Police Department and Atlanta Rescue Squad.
