CIEDC announces income-eligible scholarships

[MAY 25, 2006]  Central Illinois Economic Development Corp. will provide scholarships to income-eligible individuals of high academic merit or potential. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Development has made funds available for these scholarships.

Applicants for the scholarships must meet and fulfill the following requirements:
  • Reside in one of the six counties CIEDC serves: DeWitt, Fulton, Mason, Menard, Piatt and Logan. If you are a full-time student out of county, you can still apply as long as your permanent address when not in school is within the county.

  • Fill out a survey in the county where you live. The survey includes family income for the previous year and Social Security cards for everyone in the household.

  • Submit the following:

    • High school diploma, transcript of grades, GED certificate or SAT-ACT scores.

    • Letter of reference from last school attended.

    • Letter of acceptance from Illinois school or training institute you plan to attend.

    • Autobiographical sketch, including a brief personal history, hobbies, interests, career goals, educational objectives and how the scholarship will be used.

    • One personal reference.

Applicants must have all information delivered to CIEDC's offices no later than June 23, by 4 p.m.
