The national championship will host approximately
120 student-athletes plus coaching staff and fans from NCCAA
colleges and universities across the country. LCC's Angels will be
among the participating teams volleying for the national title.
"We're excited to hold the NCCAA volleyball
championship in Lincoln," said Kevin Crawford, athletic director and
head volleyball coach of LCC. "Lincoln Christian's commitment to
this tournament and the assistance of Matt Clark, tournament
director, make this a great event. We are looking forward to a
successful tournament." LCC is hosting the championship for the
fourth straight year.
The championship will kick off with a Christian
service project on Wednesday. NCCAA student-athletes will visit the
Genesis Rouse store, the Lincoln Christian Church preschool and the
Christian Village. "This is an outstanding way in which LCC and the
NCCAA can give back to the Lincoln community," Crawford said. "We
look forward to assisting in each of the selected areas of service."
A banquet on Wednesday night will follow the
Christian service project. Dr. Wayne Shaw, dean emeritus of Lincoln
Christian Seminary, will be the guest speaker.
