Flanagan scored 14 of her 21 points in the opening half, helping
Bradley take a 46-27 lead at the break. Quincy scored the first four
points of the game and trailed by just two points at 8-6 with 16:43
before the half, before the Braves outscored the Hawks 31-14 over
the next 14:30 to push their lead to 19 points. Bradley shot 56.3
percent in the opening half, including 57.1 percent (4-for-7) from
beyond the 3-point arc in the first 20 minutes of play. Quincy
trailed 54-36 with 12:37 to play, when Bradley delivered the
knockout blow, taking a 19-2 run over the next seven minutes to
extend its lead to 73-38 with just over five minutes remaining.
Bradley shot 46.2 percent from the field in the second half to
finish the game with a 51.7 shooting percentage. The Braves
connected on 7-of-14 3-point attempts and committed just 14
turnovers, while forcing 26 Quincy turnovers.
Flanagan hit 8-of-13 shots, including 2-for-4 from 3-point range,
and added six rebounds and four assists in addition to her game-high
21 points. Senior Amy Peters added 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting in
22 minutes of action, while junior Jasmin Wright had a double-double
with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds off the bench. Senior
Erika Nelson and junior Chasity Cotton were also in double figures,
with 10 points each.

The Braves dominated down low, posting a 40-32 edge in
rebounding, and had a 30-14 advantage in points in the paint despite
playing without senior center Ashley Chelleen, who missed the game
after injuring her ankle in practice Saturday.
Jessica Kelley was the only Quincy player in double figures, with
12 points. The Hawks shot just 26.4 percent from the field and had
just eight assists, but they did shoot 92.3 percent from the
free-throw line, hitting 12-of-13 free throws.
Bradley opens the 2006-07 season at home Saturday against Chicago
State at 2:05 p.m. at Robertson Memorial Field House. Saturday's
season opener will be part of the Braves' Toys For Tots promotion,
with anyone bringing in a new unwrapped toy receiving free admission
to the game.
