Redbirds climb one spot to No. 7

With Illinois State's convincing 38-14 win over Missouri State,
paired with Montana's 10-9 victory over Cal Poly, the Redbirds were
able to move up one position to No. 7 in The Sports Network I-AA
Top-25 Poll, as the Mustangs fell from No. 6 to No. 9. The Redbirds
are also ranked No. 7 in the latest College Sporting News Coaches
Poll.

poll remained unchanged, as Appalachian State
held on to its No. 1 position with 94 first-place votes. Montana is
second, followed by Massachusetts, James Madison and North Dakota
State. Youngstown State is one spot ahead of the Redbirds at No. 6.
Northern Iowa moved up to No. 12, while Southern Illinois fell to
No. 14, as the Gateway Football Conference continues its run with
four teams in the top 25.
Dating back to last season, the Redbirds have been ranked for 12
consecutive weeks.
ISU returns to action on Saturday, when the Redbirds travel to
Indiana State. Kickoff is 11:05 a.m. Central time. [Pre-game
