MOUNT PULASKI -- Abraham Lincoln was the
defending lawyer in the original
"Cast Iron Tombstone Trial" that took place in the Mount Pulaski
Courthouse in the spring of 1854. There was a second such trial in
Lincoln in 1857 in which Mr. Lincoln also was the defending lawyer.
The sketchy information from both trials has been combined for a
performance on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the courtroom at the Mount
Pulaski Courthouse. A jury will be selected from the audience. The
actual decision handed down will be revealed after the performance.
