Wanted: first-rate performers to entertain at the 2007 Illinois State Fair

[NOV. 27, 2006]  SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois State Fair is searching for talented performers to entertain at next summer's fair. Singers, musicians, dancers, comedians, magicians, hypnotists and jugglers have performed at the fair in years past.

The acts will be presented on free entertainment stages located throughout the fairgrounds. Daytime and evening bookings are available.

"Illinoisans come to the state fair each year to demonstrate their talents, and the best they have to offer is proudly displayed," said Amy Bliefnick, state fair manager. "I encourage artists to send us an audition tape. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to gain valuable experience and exposure."

Interested performers should send audition tapes and other promotional materials to: Illinois State Fair, Attention: Pati Kohlbecker, P.O. Box 19427, Springfield, IL 62794-9427. The materials must be postmarked no later than Dec. 22 and should include the name, address, and day and evening telephone numbers of a contact person. Audition tapes will not be returned. Accepted formats include CD, DVD and cassette.
