Logan County Board passes appointments and makes recognitions

[NOV. 27, 2006]  Numerous appointments and reappointments to positions and boards were made at the end of fiscal year adjourned meeting of the Logan County Board on Nov. 21.

Logan County Board of Health:

  • Roger Bock

  • Robert Cox

Both are reappointments for three-year terms, from Nov. 1, 2006, to Oct. 31, 2009.

Abraham Lincoln Tourism Board of Logan County board of directors:

  • Gail Apel-Sasse, Shirley Bartelmay, Alberta Hellman, Ron Keller, Bob McCue, Charles Ott, Lucile Pech and Gillette Ransom.

All are reappointments for three-year terms, from Nov. 1, 2006, to Oct. 31, 2009.

Workforce Investment ACT board:

  • Wayne Conrady, reappointment for a three-year term starting Jan. 1, 2007, to Dec. 31, 2009.

Annual appointments were made to the animal control staff:

  • Animal control administrator: Michael Sanborn, D.M.V.

  • Animal control warden: Julie Parker

  • Animal control deputy warden: Maurice Tierney

The Logan County Board also recognized the Hartsburg-Emden FFA ag issues team, coach Lisa Wrage and school sponsor Betsy Pech for their record of achievement. The team placed fourth in the nation during the final competition on Oct. 27.

Also recognized were retiring board members Paul Gleason and Dale Voyles.

Newly elected board members will be sworn in Dec. 4 at 8:45 a.m. in the third-floor courtroom of the Logan County Courthouse. Taking new seats will be Gloria Luster, representing District 5, and Michael McIntosh representing District 6.

A board organizational meeting will take place after that, at 9:30 a.m.
