Countdown to 1 millionth Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum visitor

[NOV. 28, 2006]  SPRINGFIELD -- On Monday, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum announced the latest attendance figures as the countdown to the 1 millionth visitor continues. As of Sunday, the number of visitors who have toured the museum since April 2005 hit 976,668.

The museum launched a contest for participants to guess the date and time of the 1 millionth visitor. The last day for entries was Nov. 10. Over 600 entries were received.

Weekly attendance numbers will be posted every Monday on a digital counter in Union Square Park, across from the presidential museum, at the corner of Sixth and Jefferson. During the week leading up to the 1 millionth visitor, numbers will be posted daily.
