Victoria Jones receives Rotary Scholarship

[OCT. 3, 2006]  Lincoln College freshman Victoria Jones, daughter of Steve and Cathy Jones of Lincoln, is this year's recipient of the Lincoln Rotary Scholarship. The civic club scholarship for $1,000 is awarded annually.

Jones, a 2006 Lincoln Community High School graduate, is taking liberal arts courses at Lincoln College. After earning her associate degree she plans to continue her education at Illinois State University, where she will major in English education.

The Rotary Scholarship is awarded to a worthy student in good academic standing and was established to encourage young people to secure higher education. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage individual initiative in young people who are eager to earn an education through their own efforts and courage.
