[OCT. 4, 2006]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Maple Ridge to sponsor bingo

Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor the bingo games beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday. Come join the fun and win some prizes.

Fall card party

Come to The Oasis for an afternoon of fun, cards and wonderful dessert. The fall card party will be Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are available at the senior center. Ticket donation is $5.

Meeters and Greeters

The Meeters and Greeters group will meet at the senior center on Monday at 2 p.m. This group of volunteers visits once a month with those who cannot get out, to add a bright spot in their life. If you would like to participate or would like more information, call 732-6132

Book club

Come join the book club at the senior center. Rekindle the rewards of reading a book and either sharing your thoughts with the group or just sitting back and listening to others. The scheduled time is 1 p.m. Monday. Refreshments will be provided. Bring a friend and enjoy reading.

Tuesday lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Oct. 10 will feature meatloaf, baked potato, mixed veggies, bread and butter, and a dessert for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is noon Monday.

Winners for the week announced

Eileen Kohl and Henry Warnisher were the weekday pinochle winners. The weekend pinochle winner was Wilbur Wilmert. Winners at five-in-one were Linda Hughes and Dorothy Oltmanns. Rummy winner was Ella Graney. Congratulations.
