Lincoln College saves energy with grant from ICEF          Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 10, 2006]  Lincoln College is saving energy with a recent grant of $114,055 from the Illinois Clean Energy Foundation. The college expects to reduce its annual electrical costs by about $54,000 with the help of the grant.

Greg Eimer, vice president for finance and administration at the college, said the grant is consistent with the mission of the Illinois Clean Energy Foundation. "Lincoln College appreciates the foundation's support of energy-efficient technologies, which help decrease environmental pollution and ultimately will save energy costs for Illinois consumers," Eimer said.

The project was completed in July and included replacement of older fluorescent fixtures with low-wattage electrical ballast and energy-efficient lamps in a majority of the buildings on the college's campuses in Lincoln and Normal.

The project was administered by BLI Lighting Specialists of Burlington, Iowa.
