Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 14, 2006]  The Lincoln Street Department will start the leaf pickup program on Oct. 17.

The leaves must be put in biodegradable paper bags. No brush! Brush will be left at curbside by city crews, and the resident will be responsible for the cleanup.

The bags must be placed at curbside by 7 a.m. on the dates listed for each ward. Once the crews go down each street in each ward, they will not return until the next scheduled pickup date.

The following dates for each ward are subject to change due to weather and timing of leaves dropping or not.

  • Ward 1 -- Oct. 17, Nov. 2, Nov. 21

  • Ward 2 -- Oct. 19, Nov. 7, Nov. 28

  • Ward 3 -- Oct. 24, Nov. 9, Nov. 30

  • Ward 4 -- Oct. 26, Nov. 14, Dec. 5

  • Ward 5 -- Oct. 31, Nov. 16, Dec. 7

Beginning Oct. 25 through Nov. 22 the city landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday to dump landscape waste. This service is free of charge to Lincoln residents. Fresh mulch is free and available at the same location. This mulch is finer than what has been available in the past. The landfill is located at Broadwell Drive and Old 66, north of the Salt Creek bridge.
